I wanted to practise my skills in Lightroom with some photos that i took on my compact not long ago. There was a War Day on the steam railway near where i live and i was in the town centre and noticed people dressed in authentic clothing so took some quick snaps.
In colour they look like any old photograph of people in fancy dress:
In Lightroom i applied the antique greyscale preset and edited the exposure and used the Vignettes to make the photo look a bit more aged.
I am happy with the finished images, i think they look quite authentic, i thought about how old photographs usually look and how i remember seeing them is with a white thin border around the photograph, i have printed them out and i gave them a border and trimmed this off so it was thinner and thought they looked really good, i didnt know how to give a photo a border in Lightroom though.
I have messed around with Lightroom and did a google search on how to do this but it seemed very complex but i plan to learn how to do this at some point. I did manage to put a border around an image by taking it into Print in LR but there was no way of saving this or exporting it with this border :-(
